Commercial and Residential Mold Remediation Service

Mold damage is caused by hidden or unchecked water damage. It often results from a hidden leak behind cabinets or within walls or from a slow leak from a drain. If it is left untreated for a while, cleanup can be more difficult.

It is important to take immediate action if you discover mold damage at one of your properties because it can cause significant health problems. There are two levels of mold remediation service–Level 1 for small, isolated areas up to 10 square feet and Level 2 for areas larger than 10 square feet.

If the affected area is less than 10 square feet, we remove the mold. No containment is required unless it is a high-risk environment (i.e. the property is a school or there are elderly or asthmatic inhabitants). If the mold damage covers more than10 square feet, we contain the area and use the following mold remediation removal procedure.

  • Wear Tyvek® suits and respirators.
  • Isolate contaminated areas.
  • Block all air vents.
  • If possible, work under negative air pressure and use a negative air machine/HEPA filtration device to change the air in the room.
  • Mist contaminated areas to suppress dust.
  • Repair the cause of the problem to prevent new mold spores from growing.
  • Remove all wet and damaged materials.
  • Double-bag and remove all wet and moldy materials.
  • Clean all non-porous materials and surfaces with a wire brush and wipe down the area.
  • Clean the affected areas and egress with a damp cloth or mop and detergent. (For Level 2 situations, vacuum surfaces with a HEPA vacuum first).
  • Ensure all areas are free of contamination and debris.
  • Allow leftover moisture to evaporate and use dehumidifiers to dry the treated areas.
  • Replace all materials that were removed during remediation.

Our final step is to bring in an independent Industrial Hygienist or Air Quality Specialist to check our work and take empirical air samples to verify that the mold is gone and the area is safe.
